ABOUT ME

Working in corporate IT for over 33 years, I started out as a mainframe database admin.

I am now an ITSM coach and mentor, sharing my experience and helping others improve their service management practices.

Yes, I've always worked in corporate IT environments, and over the course of more than 33 years I'd the chance and the pleasure to work with multiple multicultural teams from almost all continents.

 

It was in 2005 that, as a result of an internal mentoring program, I decided to "embark" on ITSM. It was, for sure, the best decision I have made in my entire career.

​

First was, of course, the ITIL Foundation certification, made in Portugal. Then, a quite long preparation and study for the next level of certification, Finally, in 2006, I went to the United Kingdom, to get my ITIL Manager certification and, a bit later that year, also the ISO/IEC 20000 Consultant certification.

​

In 2008 it was time to return to the UK, again, to achieve my ITIL Expert ITSM certification.

​

Since then, my daily work has been ITSM, ITSM and more ITSM... until now and, I hope, for a few more years to come!

​

The path has been made of several implementations, some of them in different companies, constant readaptation of the managing processes to the permanent changing environment, continuous refinement of practices to keep it lean and simple, lots of challenges and achievements and some failures too.

​

Of course, all this was only possible thanks to the excellent teams I've worked with. My many thanks to all of them!!
